What are your fees and payment options?

Accepted Answer

Intake session (usually lasting 75 to 90 minutes): $175
Individual 55-minute session: $135
Individual 2-hour intensive: $250 (private pay only)
Fees are payable by cash, check, credit card, Venmo (@reflectivecounseling), Health Savings Accounts, or Flexible Spending Accounts at the time of service.

I am in network with the following insurance companies: Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Quartz, Quartz Align, and Security Health Plan. Please note 2-hour intensive sessions are not covered by insurance plans. If you are planning to use insurance, I strongly encourage you to reach out to your insurance company with the following questions to find out if you can anticipate any out-of-pocket expenses:

Is Reflective Counseling (TIN 825158956) or Mackenzie Fox (NPI 1639676950) in network with my insurance plan?
Does my insurance plan cover behavioral health services?
Do I have a co-pay or co-insurance for therapy services? (If needed, you can supply the therapy service code 90837 with modifier HO. The claim amount I submit to insurance is $135 for a 55-minute session.)
Do I have a deductible that applies to therapy services? If so, what is my current deductible balance?
Does my insurance plan have a limit of how many sessions per calendar year I can claim? If so, what is that limit?

Good Faith Estimate Statement:
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique that provides stress reduction and relaxation to promote healing for the mind, body, and spirit.

"Ki" is the life force energy that flows through all of us. If one's Ki is low or blocked, it can cause stress and sickness. When Ki is flowing freely, we can more easily be happy and healthy. Reiki is natural and safe, creating many beneficial effects such as calming, peacefulness, and even physical improvements. (Please note Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment.)

I use Reiki regularly in my sessions with the intention to heal what is ready to be healed. Clients do not need to do anything to allow this healing to occur, as it happens on a soul level. Reiki can flow in and through you at any time - even during a conversation.

I also provide Reiki sessions for more purposeful healing. For a Reiki session, you would lie on a massage table (fully clothed) while I work intuitively to help the Ki move more freely throughout your energy field. Reiki can involve light touch on the feet, lower legs, arms, shoulders, and head. I also may use essential oils and/or crystals to enhance the healing process. During the session, you may feel warm, cool, tingly, or even nothing at all. The energy can feel different for everyone - nothing is right or wrong, it just is what it is for you. While working on you, I may receive intuitive messages that I will share with you if you so choose. At times, Reiki energy can bring up emotions or blockages that are ready to be released. As a licensed professional counselor, I can support you in managing this experience. After a session, most people report feeling calm, peaceful, grounded, and relaxed.

A Reiki session can be in person, virtual, or distant. For virtual, we are connected via video during the session. For distant Reiki, I connect with you energetically at a specific time while you go about your day. I send you an email overview of what I worked on during the session, any intuitive messages I received, and guidance for potential steps you could take to support additional healing for yourself.

Rates for Reiki sessions:
In-person, 60-minute session: $80
Virtual, 60-minute session: $75
Distant, 45-minute session: $60

You can request a Reiki session at any time. If possible, please provide 24-hour notice so I may prepare the space accordingly. Please note that insurance cannot be used for Reiki sessions. Reiki sessions are private pay only. If you are a client of mine who uses insurance, ask me about a private pay discount for Reiki sessions!

Question 3

Do you offer telehealth sessions?

I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions. Telehealth, or virtual sessions, are a great option if you live too far from my office. (Please note, you must live in the states of Wisconsin or Minnesota for me to meet with you, as required by my state licensing.) It is also a great back up option in case of bad weather or if someone is feeling ill.

I offer a free, 20-minute consultation for new clients. This is an opportunity for us to see if we will be a good fit to work together. I can also answer any questions you may have. How do I know if I am ready to start counseling?

Signs you might be ready to start your healing journey:
You already have some insight into unhelpful patterns no longer serving you.
You have the ability to honestly reflect to build self-awareness.
You are open to experimenting with new skills and/or expand on skills you already have, including body-based practices aimed at reseting and calming the nervous system (examples include mindfulness, breathing practices, or meditation).
You are motivated and able to engage in skills in between sessions (even 5-10 minutes a day).
